Password recovery on M40
Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to login via the console into a M40 when you don't have the root password? (We got the M40 in an auction but realized that we cannot login into it and we are in a bit of a mess now).

I will highly appreciate any suggestions or pointers.

Thanks a lot.

I?ve never had to do this, but I?d imagine you would just do it the same way
you would on any other freebsd box, interrupt the boot at the third stage,
and type ?boot ?s? (the stage where it asks you to press enter to start, I
believe).

How about booting from the recovery flash disk (every Juniper box comes with
one, AFAIK, unless it's long gone for somebody's private use in their
digital camera) and just re-initializing the image completely?
