i will wire up my other ad/dc converter (i need to test that both p/s
work)

other than seeing three of every character as is draws the boot screen,
no

my next step is to reinstall from pcmcia

no support yet - i have to get it recertified

request system snapshot fails:
umount: /altroot: not currently mounted
Initializing /altroot...
/dev/wd0s1a on /altroot: Device not configured
Copying / to /altroot... (this may take a few minutes)
Unable to backup / to /altroot.

yes, i can specify it, but it won't work and boots from hdd instead

"Walk with me through the Universe,
And along the way see how all of us are Connected.
Feast the eyes of your Soul,
On the Love that abounds.
In all places at once, seemingly endless,
Like your own existence."

[RE: compact flash failure?] [ In reply to ]
Joshua,

the output of 'show chassis alarm' not only reported what you told
about the power supply not being connected, but it also indicated a
Major alarm in the other power supply:
> 2003-05-08 05:21:39 PDT Major Power Supply A fan failed
There is an Alert Field on it, but it is not a show stopper, although
Juniper recommends a RMA. I was told there is a faulty sensor
which alarms when fan speed drops below a certain rpm. Power is
still working in most cases.

Regarding the compact flash, there was some messages in this list
that covered that issue.
