CER-RT X4 MP CPU
Could anyone kindly elaborate on if the MP CPU in the new CERs has been
upgraded at all from the older units?

Perhaps post a "show version" ?

The old ones have an 800MHz PPC, just wondering if this has been upgraded.

Thanks.

Do you mean 2024F-4X-RT or 2024C-4X-RT?

2024C-4X-RT:
800 MHz Power PC processor 8544 (version 8021/0023) 400 MHz bus
512 KB Boot Flash (MX29LV040C), 64 MB Code Flash (MT28F256J3)
2048 MB DRAM

Jorg,

Cheers, looks exactly the same as the old model (2024C-RT):

800 MHz Power PC processor 8544 (version 8021/0023) 400 MHz bus
512 KB Boot Flash (MX29LV040C), 64 MB Code Flash (MT28F256J3)

I was hoping for a boost to improve the BGP convergence.

If only... I would also have loved to have a RAM-4GB version too :-)

Better believe in santa than expect hardware upgrades for this platform.

Too bad, it's a very nice capable 1RU PE / BGP RR device.

Best regards.

Yep. I wouldn't need for now what future 1U/SLX product will offer
(with plenty of 10G in 1U, but with price++).

Yes. And I am sure that with just a little bit more of CPU/RAM, that
would last way longer... but for sure, this is not in the interest of a
gear seller :-)
