Brocade cam profile / System max values
Hi,

We have a Brocade MLXe-4 with one 4x 10 Gbit card and HSF's.

We get this warning in our logs:

CAM IPv6 partition warning: total 65536 (reserved 0), free 3276, slot 1, ppcr 0

But we have 27629 +- IPv6 routes (including internal routes)?

#show run | inc cam
cam-partition profile ipv4-ipv6-2

#show run | inc system-max
system-max vlan 4095
system-max rstp 128
system-max ip-cache 590000 - setting value next week to 768000
system-max ip-route 590000 - setting value next week to 768000
system-max virtual-interface 4095

#show default values | inc ipv6
ipv6-cache 65536 245760 65536 65536 65536 Yes
ipv6-route 65536 245760 65536 65536 65536 Yes
ipv6-mcast-cam 2048 16384 2048 2048 2048 No
ipv6-vrf-route 128 16384 128 128 128 Yes
ipv6-receive-cam 0 8192 0 0 0 No

system-max for ipv6 is default set to max.?

Regards,

Dennis
Re: Brocade cam profile / System max values [ In reply to ]
Hi Dennis,

I don't see you changing the ip6 system-max param anywhere... looks
like your max is 245760 for ipv6-cache/route, but it is currently set
to 65536.

You need to add a system-max ipv6-cache/ipv6-route to your config and
then you will need a reload. Also, are you running all -X modules in
this device?

Dennis,

I guess I mis-read your question. Please provide the output of 'show module'.

I suspect that slot 1 is not a -X card (1M IPv4 routes max), but a
NI-MLX-10Gx4 (512K ipv4 routes max).

Hi Eldon,

Card 1 is a NI-XMR-10Gx4

With the cam profile 768k IPv4 routes and 64k Ipv6 routes (Same number of routes as the BR-MLX-10Gx4-x card).

What version of code are you running? There could be a bug...

What does 'sh ipv6 route summary' say?

Re: Brocade cam profile / System max values [ In reply to ]
Oops... looks like I forgot to reply-all at some point, but it is XMR
management card + XMR 10Gx4 card in MLXe chassis running 05600fb.

Does anyone know if increasing other limits could be causing this?
Especially the system-max virtual-interface 4095?

Other than that, I think the next step might be to contact Brocade TAC :/.
