BRAS/BNG functions of NetIron MLXe-4
Hi guys,

We were considering the MLXe for IP edge applications, but also have
some small requirements for BRAS/BNG functions.

Is this supported at all? Brocade's site seems to talk about broadband
subscriber management / access solutions, but no product seems pinpointed.

Primary requirements for *this* are the usual, RADIUS
authentication/shaping and terminating l2tp tunnels.

Hi Paul

As fas as I know, there is no product which meets your requirements ... At least the MLXe dies not support l2tp (VPDN in Cisco language)...

Regards

Matthias

That's my understanding, too, after having talked to my Brocade folk.

If you want to land the l2tp on something other than the MLX, the Brocade
Vyatta 5600 vRouter can do it. Runs as a VM. I believe they have a trial
download that you might be able to take for a spin. You can also get a
"bare metal" license for it.
