Sound in Leanfront Android app

I've been using the Leanfront app on my Chromecast with Google TV. It's
working well except for one small niggle.

When play resumes after skipping forward there is sound for 1 second, then
no sound for a couple of seconds, and then the sound resumes again. I see
this was mentioned a few months ago as part of a different sound issue at Audio
Sync - githubmemory

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

There is a brief pause in sound 5 seconds after a skip, in order to get
audio sync correct. This should only be a fraction of a second in most
cases. I don't know why this would happen 1 second after the skip and
last longer, unless this is a different audio interruption.
