Hi
I know metadata is broken. Over the years I've had endless heartache so what I'm asking is if anybody knows of a workaround:
I'm saving some of the Doc Martin episodes.
I saved 'Doc Martin 9x04.avi' as 'Doc Martin 9x05.avi' by accident.
Of course the meta data retrieved was for 9x05 not 9x04.
I renamed 9x05 as 9x04 populated with 9x03, correct 9x05, 9x06 and 9x07.
[sandypit] /home/jam [1003]% md5sum /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc\ Martin\ 9*avi
0ca1346e72f3fa0b71e101174f6ef053 /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc Martin 9x03.avi
3ffd0aa41fbfe8915d369b35edb5b8e7 /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc Martin 9x04.avi
3ad670f9aab5bed662aa034b34804246 /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc Martin 9x05.avi
bcdff50b663e9819394470dae4b12a44 /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc Martin 9x06.avi
9751bfa47e643445022d9f988dca75d6 /store/Movies/Myth-D/Doc Martin 9x07.avi
After much fussing around, restoring this AM backup, scanning on another machine I eventually got 5 episodes with correct meta data, watchable too.
I did a scan with a comletely new movie and
9x05 and 9x06 no longer appear in the listings !!!!!!! (but ofcourse are still present)
It has bitten me so many times I wrote a hashDups:
[sandypit] /store/Movies/Myth-D [1007]% ~/bin/hashDups
----------------------
now doing names
----------------------
[number of files] 77
--------------------------------
now doing hash on files
--------------------------------
now doing hash check
--------------------------------
Checking the entire Movies archive:
[sandypit] /store/Movies [1009]% ~/bin/hashDups
----------------------
now doing names
----------------------
[number of files] 1333
--------------------------------
now doing hash on files
--------------------------------
now doing hash check
--------------------------------
[targ] ./Myth-R/Red Dog.avi 410b4e48418d3fa6
[dup] ./Myth-R/red.avi
Any suggestions .. please
James
