Pundit and TV Overscan?
Still considering the Pundit for my MythTV box...

I know that the GF4MX is recommended, but what about
the TV-out on the Pundit? I hear that it works, but
what about control of overscan or other options. Is
this supported by the Pundit's onboard video? Is it
important?

The onboard chipset (SiS 651) supports overscan, but the stock SiS
driver does not. There are alternative drivers available (see my
earlier message) which I hope to be able to test this weekend. Check
out http://www.winischhofer.net/ for more details about the state of
support for the 651 and its capabilities. Stay tuned for more info...

The drivers from that site are the ones I am using and they work great.
I haven't had any problems with X. It is very stable and supports XV..

which files did you download (or will you download?) I'm not quite sure
which things I should grab, and whether or not I'll have to recompile
the entirety of XFree86 (which would obviously be a huge pain).

All you really need is the X driver itself; make sure to get the correct
driver for your configuration (X version, glibc version). Also, take a
look at the sample XF86Config files that he has on the site.
