Streming Internet Radio to Myth
I have been meaning to ask this for a while - is there currently a
MythRadio style option for the wonderful Myth project, where you can choose
different Internet streaming audio stations to listen to via Myth? I'm
thinking not only being able to specify things on a per session basis, but
also create the equivalent of "Digital Music Channels" all the cable
providers boast via ther digital service, by adding your favorite internet
radio stations in to your EPG as "channels" and then having the album name,
artist and other info that you might otherwise see in the mini browser in
an app like WinAmp appear onscreen, a la digital cable channels. Just a
thought. Anyone done anything in this area?

Sounds like a great idea.. Though would probably work best as yet
another plugin (though maybe inside of mythmusic). On the other hand,
finding someone to code it might be a challenge.

Someone was supposedly working on adding support for it to mythmusic, but
nothing ever materialized. It is something I'd like to do eventually, but
when I'd ever have time to get around to doing it is the question =)

It really works pretty good thru mythvideo (at least back when
you could easily map file exentions to application).
The only kicker is shutting down mplayer (or xmms) once it's started.
But there are workarounds.
Apparently the newest mythvideo checkins deep-sixes this options
although I haven't tried it myself (am now afraid to cvs update & lose
internet radio)...

Yes but now that tip will allegedly longer work with the mythvideo in CVS...
