Hi Kevin. Myth buffers "live tv", encoding it from the source first, then
decoding it before sending it out to the tv (allows for seperate front/back
ends). The quality will really depend on how you encode it to begin with.
If you encode at a high resolution, you will get good tv out (as good as
possible from the source). If you use a low resolution, you will get
fair/bad tv out. Read the docs as they have some resolutions to try. I
personally use 320x480 mpeg4 at 4400 (only have a p3 800, and using 93% cpu)
and the output is fine for me. As far as best TV out cards, I don't have
enough knowledge of all the cards out there to give you an answer, but my
gf4 mx400 with tv out works fine for me, although it's not exactly cheap

Subject: [mythtv-users] Video Out?
> I am just doing preliminary reseach on Myth TV. I want to know what the
output is like if you use a TV out card to the TV. Is it as good as quality
as watching it regularly? And what are the best TV out video cards that are
cheap and work with Myth TV.
