Recording past show not working

Hello,

I'm using RH 9.0
MythTV CVS
and when I go to record a show it sometimes cuts off early. So I set
the record past end for 300 seconds (5min) however if I go to look at
that setting again it is 0. doesn't seem to save it. Any ideas?

When you change the settings do you exit the screen by pressing escape
or selecting next, next, finish?
It doesn't seem to save changes unless you do the latter.
