Problems with running MythTv
I have installed mythtv by following all of the instructions in the how
to document. After a few problems with missing packages and the like I
got to the point where you are asked to execute ./setup in the setup
folder. It gets to the point where the graphical mythtv window opens. It
does not display properly making it impossible for me to continue to set
it up. I am not sure how to fix this problem. Has anyone else
experienced this problem? I have uploaded a couple of screen shots so
you can see what I mean.

I am runing Gnome 2.2 and Mandrake 9.1 I have a geforec 2 graphics card
running the latest nvidia drivers (which appear to work ok).

I would apreaciate any help anyone can give me on this.

Just a guess, but do you have the freetype font installed?

I've heard that it doesn't run well in Gnome. I'm running a similar
setup, software wise. And the only problem I experience with Gnome is
that the TV window doesn't go borderless and on top of everything like
every other window. Check for proper versions of QT and such. I don't
remember if I had to urpmi those. They should be the newest one since
mandrake 9.1 just came out.

Thanks all of you for your help. I have still not managed to fix the
problem. I have tried ruunning it under both Gnome 2.2 amd KDE 3.1 I
have the same problem in both of them. I checked and free type is
installed already. Not sure what the latest version of qt is but I am
running the package libqt3-3.1.1-8mdk as well as the same version of
libqt3-mysql and libqt3-common. Has anyone got any more ideas.

Thanks again for the help.
