Hello All-

Can anyone tell me why my frontend kills my backend... I just can't connect.

[mythtv@smb ~]$ mythtv

I assume you have done the usual stuff like open the ports on any
firewall you have in the way? Port 6543 is the right one of the top
of my head.

Also, is the backend actually running?

Also, shouldn't you be using the 'mythfrontend' command to start the frontend?

should I be using format=date, instead of format=default
