lupdate warning
Hi,

While running 'lupdate -locations absolute' in mythtv and plugins folders to catch up with the Greek translation, I got the following warning for all .ts files except the _es_es.ts one.

lupdate warning: Codec for tr() 'UTF-8' disagrees with existing file's codec 'ISO-8859-1'. Expect trouble.
Updating 'mythtv/i18n/mythfrontend_en_us.ts'...
Found 5477 source text(s) (113 new and 5364 already existing)
Kept 26 obsolete entries
Same-text heuristic provided 26 translation(s)

Updating 'mythtv/i18n/mythfrontend_es.ts'...
Found 5477 source text(s) (2330 new and 3147 already existing)
Kept 1405 obsolete entries
Number heuristic provided 17 translation(s)

Updating 'mythtv/i18n/mythfrontend_es_es.ts'...

The warning is present for all files, but I'm just enclosing a small sample of the output.
It occurs only after running "git reset --hard".
For the mythfrontend_el.ts file, the first lines after the above command are:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE TS>
<TS version="2.0" language="el_GR">
<context>
<name>(Categories)</name>

And after running lupdate -locations absolute:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE TS>
<TS version="2.0" language="el_GR">
<defaultcodec>UTF-8</defaultcodec>
<context>
<name>(Categories)</name>

Should I be worried?

You did not get it for the Spanish/Spain translation as Antonio has
updated his translation after that character set/code page change...

No... I am pretty sure I had sent an email about this but I could be
wrong...

I did not want to change the character set/code page until we switched
to Qt 5 (which does it by default) as only one string was affected by
this change and it did not seem necessary to go through this kind of
problem until we switched to Qt 5...

Both ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8 are superset of ASCII and only one string was
not pure ASCII.. You will only have to retranslate that string and Qt
Linguist should offer you the previous translation as a possible
translation.

Unfortunately somebody did something without consulting with the proper
people first so he did not see that was he was doing to fix *his*
problem was causing other problems so I was forced to push this change...

Sorrrrry...

Have a nice day!

Nicolas
