Time to get started with MythTV 0.24 translations
Hi translators

Chris Pinkham has just posted a release timeline for MythTV 0.24 on
the mythtv-dev mailing list. The final string freeze will be on the
15th, with a final release of MythTV 0.24 on 1st of October.

There're quite a few new translations, but the themestrings are
already up to date (only ~5 strings are out-of-sync), so you probably
want to get started right away and then just do another lupdate when
we hit the string freeze (including a final themestrings update) on
the 15th.

Enjoy :)

Best Regards
Kenni

Finally. :) Better get to work then. Feels like I've neglected to do any
work so better bring that big cup of coffee and start working.
Luckily the swedish translations is pretty ok.

Talking about theme strings. How will it work with translations when we
will be able to "download" themes with the themebrowser?

It looks like it will be distributed with 0.24.

This is transparent to themers. The themestrings are kept in the
translation file of the core, not distributed with the theme itself.

The core themes (ie, those provided by our project) are translated in
the core themestrings-- the third party themes aren't (but they never
have been, either).

Yes. Our project provides no translations for those themes.

As a reminder, don't forget you can track progress on the new
translation status page:

http://www.insidethex.co.uk/mythtv/translation-status/trunk/

(where yellow is good, but green is what to aim for!)

and by using the per-language links from the translators table on the wiki:

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Translation#Translation_maintainers.2Fcontributors

A big thanks to all translators, past and present - let's make the
0.24 release the best translated so far.

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks for that - it was on my todo list after Kenni updated the links
in the translators table yesterday.

Cheers,
Nick
