tv card setup question
Howdy folks I am having some problem getting an Avermedia TVPhone working
properly before using it with mythtv. Does anyone have a working config for
this card (preferably your bttv module options, as I've tried card=6 type=2
with no joy).

I had this working under MDK8.1 but after expanding one of the paritions to
make room for mythtv, the file system got _really_ badly corrupted and I
ended up reinstalling with mdk8.2, only to find out my TV card no longer
worked, and I have no idea what the settings were before :-(

It's got the typical problem, it doesn't recognize the tuner and hence I
can't get any channels for mythtv to use.

I don't understand spanish/portugese/whatever this language is, but my
guess is that it means "card = 6, type = 5". Found that on the net.. As an
aside, why not let it automagically detect? you can do that by not
including the card/tuner type.. Also, if you're running mandrake, maybe
harddrake would be handy? ALso note, this site talked about modifying the
bttv driver source..

ste artculo de Zebub te ayudar a configurar tu tarjeta, pero recuerda la
TVPhone es la tarjeta nmero 6 (type=6) y su sintonizador el Philips PAL
(tuner=5).

Because that doesn't work

Oct 27 23:57:44 zathrus kernel: bttv0: using: BT848A( *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC **)
[card=0,autodetected]
Oct 27 23:57:44 zathrus kernel: tuner: chip found @ 0xc2
Oct 27 23:57:44 zathrus kernel: bttv0: i2c attach [client=(unset),ok]
Oct 27 23:57:44 zathrus kernel: i2c-core.o: client [(unset)] registered to
adapter [bt848 #0](pos. 0).

Even with card=6 type=5, I get

Oct 28 00:02:08 zathrus drakxtv[22626]: launched command: xvt -T 'Scanning
for TV channels ...' -e scantv -n NTSC -f canada-cable -o
/home/sibbleh/.xawtv
Oct 28 00:02:08 zathrus kernel: tuner: tuner type not set
Oct 28 00:02:38 zathrus last message repeated 126 times

I've tried a bunch of other combinations too.

Harddrake/kudzu set it up correctly under 8.1, but for some reason not under
8.2.
