Python3 and Fedora 31
(asking for a friend)

I believe Richard has made the query previously,
but with Fedora 31, python is now python3, and only
minimal python2 bits will be available. In order
to package MythTV for F31 (and I think RHEL8),
there is a need for the python api/codes to be
ported to python3 (or for some functionality to be
significantly reduced).

Is this port on the projects radar?

Did anybody see this? I do not understand python and what is required to
convert to python 3.

I saw it. I thought someone, not a developer, was working on it.

I'm competent with Python but this isn't something I was planning on
working on. FWIW, I'm not even getting the things I want to work on
done. I hope to have some more time in the coming weeks, though.

I started playing with it but never got very far, and then lost all my
free time to work on MythTV.

Just pushed Roland's work (and he credits Mark Spieth too). Plus
my changes to Hardware Profile and configure.

Updated the v31 Release Notes and Python3 Conversion page.

Let the games begin.
