Thanks Noble!

+1 SUCCESS! [1:24:28.212370] (my internet is super slow today)

Re-ran all the Solr operator tests and verified the Cloud graph UI renders
correctly now.

Re: [VOTE] Release Lucene/Solr 8.8.0 RC2 [ In reply to ]
I ran it twice on my old-ish MacBook, and it failed each time on Solr tests
that have a history of flakiness (as shown by Hossman's awesome fucit.org
site) -- AutoscalingHistoryHandlerTest & TestWithCollection. Neither seed
repeated. I'll pass on voting.

Ah; I see they appear to be 8x only. Any idea what the story is with
them? Do you think it is just test flakiness or flakiness in Solr's
related functionality?

Re: [VOTE] Release Lucene/Solr 8.8.0 RC2 [ In reply to ]
I'm not sure why the tests fail. But, there is no point in trying to
fix them if that code is removed from master and we do not plan to
support them anyway

Re: [VOTE] Release Lucene/Solr 8.8.0 RC2 [ In reply to ]
I agree with Noble that we shouldn't let those flakies hold up the
release. It really sucks, but Solr wouldn't've gotten out a release in
years if that was our bar.

FWIW though I disagree with his finer point that we shouldn't worry
about autoscaling in particular because it's slated for removal in
9.0. We're not releasing 9.0, we're releasing 8.8. And there's
likely to be an 8.8.1 or 8.9 at some point later. So there's
definitely a "point in trying to fix" those failures, generally
speaking.

Re: [VOTE] Release Lucene/Solr 8.8.0 RC2 [ In reply to ]
Yes, if someone is willing to invest time to fix the failures we
should. totally do it.

Unfortunately, I don't see anyone making that investment

Re: [VOTE] Release Lucene/Solr 8.8.0 RC2 [ In reply to ]
Just so everyone is aware, an accidental commit as part of the 8.8 release process that Noble was working on removed all the Lucene Javadocs, Solr Javadocs, and Solr Ref Guides for the 8.5.0 through 8.8.0 releases from the SVN production repo where they are served from.

I talked to Noble about it in Slack (https://the-asf.slack.com/archives/CEKUCUNE9/p1611931168079700) and I think we pinpointed the commit that did it. As it’s quite late in Australia now, he said he will work on fixing it in his morning so he can be sure he doesn’t mess it up further.

I thought I’d let everyone know in case others notice today that these versions are missing.

Thanks for the update! I suppose this explains why I was unable to use the
ref guide online today -- also noticed by my colleagues :-(
