Oops on booting 2.3.24
Hiya,
my machine refused to boot with 2.3.24 (AMD K6-II, GCC-2.95,
binutils-2.9.5.0.14) and crashed just after
Linux version 2.2.12 (civhr@rm233b) (gcc version 2.95 19990728
(release)) #1 Mon Aug 30 16:11:16 BST 1999
Detected 233864228 Hz processor.
Console: colour VGA+ 80x25
Calibrating delay loop... 466.94 BogoMIPS
[Boom]
the Oops-report is painstakingly scribbled from screen, so there might
be errors in it, although it looks quite sensible (as far as I can tell,
which is admittedly not very far).
HTH,
Hannes

[ .. ]
of course it should read '2.3.24' in the version number, I've just
incorporated the dmesg output from an old kernel (hence the 2.2.12),
which actually does boot.
For obvious reasons I couldn't use that one from 2.3.24 :-).
Cheers,
Hannes
