Hang at checking TSC synchro
I'm having issues when I build an SMP kernel with a hang during boot
when it gets to "checking TSC synchronization across 2 CPUs".

I've only tried gentoo-dev (2.6.7-r14 or r11 I think and
2.6.5rsomething) and the current genkernel sources (with enough
modifications to genkernel to get SMP turned on), and I still have the
issue.

Oddly enough, if I downclock the processor to 1500 (it's a dual Athlon
MP 2800+ running at 2k), it will boot smoothly, even with SMP, or if I
take SMP out of the kernel it will also boot smoothly.

I'm guessing this should be a simple one, but I've done tons of web
searches, followed all the documentation I can find, and played with
the kernel config for a few weeks now.

Any suggestions?
