Synopsis
========

Multiple vulnerabilities have been found in Fossil, the worst of which
could result in the arbitrary execution of code.

Background
==========

Fossil is a simple, high-reliability, distributed software
configuration management system.

Affected packages
=================

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1 dev-vcs/fossil < 2.12.1 >= 2.12.1

Description
===========

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Fossil. Please review
the CVE identifiers referenced below for details.

Impact
======

A remote attacker could entice a user to open a specially crafted
repository using Fossil, possibly resulting in execution of arbitrary
code with the privileges of the process or a Denial of Service
condition.

Workaround
==========

There is no known workaround at this time.

Resolution
==========

All Fossil users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=dev-vcs/fossil-2.12.1"
