Yes, that's exactly correct! Just run it once with that switch and it installs a regular Windows Service (which you can view with
all the other services via the Services icon in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools).
I've also successfully run clamd as a service using AlwaysUp (http://www.coretechnologies.com/products/AlwaysUp/) - it's an
inexpensive, commercial program for running applications as services - it gives you a lot more control and functionality over
PowerTools or similar Windows Service tools.
