Support - RHEL 4 & 5
I'm supporting a program that is still using RHEL 4 and 5 for legacy needs.
Will the latest version of CLAMAV support these operating systems?

v/r,
John

Hi John,

We don't officially support RHEL 4 and 5.

You may be able to get it working if you are willing to build some dependencies from source.

Good luck if you decide to pursue.

Andy

I feel your pain.

A question more suited to the users' list than the development list.

You can always run ClamAV on a different box, and for example pipe the
data to be scanned directly to the clamd socket - I could offer a Perl
script to get you started with that - or remote mount the filesystems
to be scanned, or ...

Having said that if you're stuck with obsolete software then running
or not running ClamAV is the least of your problems. I hope at least
that you have some powerful caveats in the support contract.
