Cisco UCCX Roadmap
Does anyone that attended Cisco Live have any info on what the future development plans are for UCCX? Is there a v14 and beyond on the roadmap? Any idea how rapidly they are trying to push people to Webex Contact Center? Is anyone on here using Webex Contact Center with 150-200 agents?

Thanks!!

Wasn't at Cisco live but at least as far as what's available to partners, there is nothing that I can't talk about and publicly there is nothing.

The on prem software development is quite nearly dead.

Haven’t looked into it much, but have quite a few customers who are avoiding WxCC due to existing backend integrations with on-prem SQL servers, mainframes, and http/REST integrations…. Those are probably being marketed as front end widget/gadget integrations for WxCC I’m guessing.

First I’ve heard that UCCX development is nearly dead, but good to know, especially from a personal development perspective lol.

Re: Cisco UCCX Roadmap [ In reply to ]
Yes, its kind of a surprise especially with the Finesse refresh and other changes in 12.5. This is definitely not the message I’ve been getting from my Cisco team but admittedly I’m getting mixed signals on the future as well which is why I asked here. Last year we had a big meeting and one of the people was the Cloud Collab person assigned to us and she was trying to start the discussion about Webex Contact center but didn’t seem to have a lot of references to give me on other clients our size using it. Also with Webex Teams going down (twice I think) the last couple months due to the AWS outages it makes me a little nervous about cloud voice or contact center even though I know that where things are headed eventually. All you hear about from cloud providers is about redundancy but then an AWS data center has a power failure and half or more of the US goes down…….

Re: [External] Re: Cisco UCCX Roadmap [ In reply to ]
I feel the same way. At the end of the day, when I build the boxes, I know
where they are, I know what is between them, and I know what level of risk
is acceptable in what arenas. I don't know whether Cisco shares the same
passion for this that I do - until some provider loses one data center and
their entire product is offline.

AWS doesn't magically make anything redundant. It is the customer's problem
(so, Cisco's problem) to build products that are resilient to an AZ or
region failure.

Re: Cisco UCCX Roadmap [ In reply to ]
I believe 14.x is officially planned for UCCX but no commitment of a
release past that point. UCCX 12.5 added remote agent support via reverse
proxy and agent device selection which were the big features people were
waiting for.

We do custom work to get Google Dialog Flow working with UCCX but it seems
like there's no plan to add CCAI natively to UCCX at any point and only
officially to support UCCE/WXCC.

We're moving several UCCX/UCCE customers to WXCC. There's an ODBC
connector tool to allow accessing an on-prem DB via REST API.
