[nsp] recommendations please
Hi All,

Hope everyone is enjoying their day thus far.

Quick question. Instead of a Catalyst 3550, which multi-layer switch could
still provide the capabilites a Cat 3550 would?

such things as;

a) hardware-based IP Unicast and Multicast Routing
b) inter-VLAN routing
c) routed access control in the form of ACL's
d) HSRP
e) gigabit capabilities
f) fast ethernet capabilities
g) this can handle layer 2 and layer 3 IOS commands.

thanks for your help all

2948G-L3 - but this is an older platform, and by now more expensive
than the 3550.

Aside from that - your options would seem to be the chassis based
platforms like the 4000 or 6500. More expensive, of course.
