[nsp] out-discard
Need help identifying root cause of out-discards on a cat 6500 port, the port is a GIGE uplink to a GSR. There are no problems, however, the discarded packets do accumulate. Cisco docs define out-discards as packets that do not have errors but do not need to be switched. What packets would
fit this crieria ?

thanx

Out-discards are packets that were put on the backplane, but the port in
question didn't have an actual buffer to hold it, so they were dropped.
This normally happens because of oversubscription. Take a look at your
Gig port and make sure you aren't overrunning it.
