Scrpms Mythtv 27.3 Packages
I've developed a bit of traffic over on the mythtv-users list regarding
CentOS and MythTV. Can anyone provide and feedback on Stephen Collier's
MythTV 27.3 packages for EL6? I'd like to share experiences over there.

Stephen,
Where is the GPG key for your repo? I had to install using --nogpgcheck.

Thanks.

scrpms-repo rpm should install the key for you.

Cheers

I had manually created the repo file. I missed the RPM.

Hi Stephen: I now have an installation of SL7 in a 'new' box and hoped
to install your 27.4 packages, although since I have moved the older box
to master I shall probably want to go on to that fairly soon, with, I
hope, the help of devel packages from your repo.

yum is demanding mysql-server rather than maria. I don't see this in
the usual el7 repos and assume that you have the mysql-community-release
version, perhaps for other projects. Is there a simple way to switch an
install of your packages to use maria?

TIA

John

I think if you just install maria-db first it will satisfy the dependency

I'm using it without issue on EL7 anyway

cheers

Yes, I had a feeling that that might be true, but maria is there and my
first attempt to outwit yum didn't work.

Now I've established that the hardware works I'll probably drop in my
old f19 disks instead and see how that goes - but thanks for the info.

John

I'll have a look later today. This is quit weird as the rpm is built
against maria as it is installed to satisfy the build dependency. I'll
set up a new install of el7 and see what happens. There may be a 27.4.2
later this afternoon.

Cheers
Stephen

I found the issue 0.27.4-2 is being rebuilt now - for el7 and f21 should
take a couple of hours. The 0.27.4-2 for all others should be OK.

Cheers

Great. Thank you. It all appears to have installed and stuff is in the
expected places. 'yum install mythtv-0.27.4' did it.

Late yesterday I got some bits to say they had installed but no files
were visible!

Now for the DB bit....

John
